Halloween
Waking up this morning, a cynical thought passed my mind. It has been an extended Halloween since last year so why would anyone still celebrate today? The answer of course is just plain simple; for some, it is tradition. Fun. You could dress crazy and then go parade yourself with your friends and family; creating memories for years to come.
We are not much of a Halloween, Trick-O-Treating family but that does not mean that I’m averse to dressing others up for the occasion. I love colours, colours, colours and I have always been fascinated with so many aspects of the creative arts. I used to wish I had the luxury of being a full-time artist but now, I have found myself an outlet in a seemingly unrelated business. Those in-haus packaging designs, décor, website and social media posts can be so satisfying to create but really, how does that tie in with Halloween?
For those who do not already know, I’m a qualified professional make-up artist too. All that talk about ‘skills transferability’, I don’t see why you can’t use ingredients from the shop to create special effects when the need arises. The perks of using food is that there’s even that promise of ants coming together to complete your look! Believe it or not, the wounds were created with tofu, tomato sauce, dark caramels & rice amongst others. In any case, at least you now know that at Fusion Food Haus, we can take ‘finger lickin’ good to a whole new level on ‘Ol Hallows Eve. Maybe next year. Just watch this space!
